Tegueste - Gateway to Anaga
A playground for the active
Tegueste is a very beautiful, historic but small town with an atmosphere that carries a pure, traditional Canarian vibe dominated by farm crops, vineyards and historical buildings in the heart of the town and many festivals throughout the year. Tegueste takes its name from the old kingdom, or Guanche menceyato, of Tegueste; word that some experts translate as wet, so be warned it is not 365 days of sunshine! But that also leads to the amazing Anaga Park and also some very delicious wines. There are some 31 vineyards in the region and wine tours are available. A short journey down the hill lies the rugged coast with plenty of unique places to get a swim in!
